Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister of State attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, will visit Innsbruck from October 4 to 5 to take part in the informal meeting of EU trade ministers.

During this meeting, the ministers will exchange views on the challenges and opportunities presented by the common commercial policy. They will notably discuss the EU’s trade relations with the United States and proposals to modernize the World Trade Organization (WTO).

The minister of state will reiterate President Macron’s desire – which he reaffirmed in his speech at the UN General Assembly on September 25 – to ensure that a road map for WTO reform be adopted at the G20 in Buenos Aires (November 30 – December 1). He will reaffirm France’s support for the EU’s proposed solutions for modernizing the WTO and its rules.
