Harlem Désir, Minister of State for European Affairs, took part in the General Affairs Council in Brussels today.
The work mainly focused on preparations for the European Council on December 17 and 18. Harlem Désir argued that this meeting should send a strong signal regarding the EU’s commitment to implementing the Paris agreement of December 12 on the fight against climate disruption.
Following the agreement reached on the European PNR system, the participants discussed the European commitment to combating terrorism and in particular the strengthening of external border controls and efforts to combat the financing of terrorism.
They also reviewed the migration crisis and underscore the urgent need to fully implement the measures adopted.
