Nathalie Loiseau, Minister for European Affairs, is going to Coulaines, in Sarthe, today at the invitation of Christophe Rouillon, Mayor of Coulaines and Vice-President of the Association of French Mayors, responsible for Europe.

Ms. Loiseau will visit, in turn, three amenities paid for with European funding: the Association Formation Insertion Chantiers (AFIC), a voluntary organization which helps get people who have had difficulty finding work back into society and the workplace, the Albert Camus centre of educational excellence, which groups together a nursery and primary school, a flexible attendance childcare center, a library, a school cafeteria, leisure and sports facilities, and the town’s swimming pool, which was completely renovated in 2017 thanks to an EU grant (FEDER) of €1 million, as part of the energy transition.

Ms. Loiseau will subsequently lead a citizens’ consultation on Europe with the Mayor of Coulaines.

More than 200 debates throughout France have already been included as part of the Citizens’ Consultations on Europe. The online consultation, which opened on May 9, can be visited at QuelleestvotreEurope.fr (in French).
