EU – Trip to the European Parliament by Nathalie Loiseau (Strasbourg, 15 January 2019)
European Affairs Minister Nathalie Loiseau will be at the European Parliament on January 15 for the plenary session in Strasbourg. She will attend the official ceremony marking the 20th anniversary of the euro.
On this occasion, the minister will meet with several European deputies to discuss various issues being addressed by the European Parliament: Brexit, the Copyright Directive, and the fight against terrorism online. She will discuss upcoming stages in the European Parliament’s examination of the Mobility Package with Karima Delli, chair of the Committee on Transport and Tourism, and Dominique Riquet, vice-chair of that same committee. This legislative project is designed to better protect workers in the road transport sector while guaranteeing fair competition.
In Strasbourg, Ms. Loiseau will also meet with Brigitte Klinkert, president of the Departmental Council of the Haut-Rhin. They will discuss the “European Collectivity of Alsace” project and the expansion of French-German cross-border cooperation ahead of the future Aachen Treaty, which will supplement the 1963 Elysée Treaty.
