Following on the success of the Rencontres Africa 2016 in Paris, the 2017 edition will be held this year on the African continent and alternating thereafter. The starting point will be Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire) on 2 and 3 October and then in Nairobi (Kenya) and Tunis (Tunisia) on 5 and 6 October.
Nearly 1,500 French and African companies are expected, as well as a number of political and economic figures who are influential in the African markets.
Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, will be with Ivorian Vice-President Daniel Kablan Duncan to inaugurate the event in Abidjan on 2 October.
Prime Minister Edouard Philippe will participate in the meetings in Tunisia with Youssef Chahed, the head of the Tunisian government, accompanied by French and Tunisian delegations. He will also take part in the first edition of the High Council for Cooperation between France and Tunisia.
Initiated under the patronage of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the French Ministry of the Economy, the Rencontres Africa 2017 are co-piloted by AfricaFrance and benefit from the support of a number of players including Business France, Bpifrance, AFD, CCEFs, French CCIs, French CCIs abroad, the CIAN, Société Générale, HEC, the Institut Français.
