OECD – Reappointment of Angel Gurria as secretary general (May 26, 2015)

France welcomes the reappointment of Angel Gurria for a third term as secretary general of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) for the period 2016-2021. Angel Gurria, who has led the organization since 2006, has raised the institution’s profile and given it new impetus.

The OECD is actively involved in the preparations for COP21. The standards that it sets serve as a reference in several areas: taxation, the fight against corruption, corporate social responsibility, development and governance.

France will continue to rely on the OECD’s expertise in order to develop and implement ambitious reforms aimed at building a competitive economy that will generate employment and will continue to undertake efforts to achieve fairer and more effectively regulated globalization.
