International trade - Boeing/Airbus - Publication of the WTO panel’s conclusions (9 June 2017)

France has taken note of the WTO panel’s conclusions published on June 9.

The WTO confirms in the report that the United States and Boeing did not take any steps to withdraw the prohibited subsidies and that additional subsidies were granted despite the WTO’s initial decision in 2012.

The granting of these subsidies to Boeing has been demonstrated to be an obstacle to the rules of fair competition. They have had a significant impact on the global market for commercial aircraft and have been extremely detrimental to Airbus. They must therefore be withdrawn.

Defending the industrial and trade interests of our companies is a priority for our diplomatic action.
