Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, is accompanying President Macron to the G20 summit taking place in Hamburg on July 7 and 8.
France’s key priorities at the G20 summit are to achieve the full implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement, secure a commitment to an open trade relationship governed by rules, the strengthening of the fight against terrorism and to reaffirm support for multilateralism.
France also supports the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, with priority given to health and education issues.
On the sidelines of this summit, Jean-Yves Le Drian is holding several bilateral meetings with his counterparts in order to discuss key foreign policy issues, notably the international community’s response to the provocations by North Korea, the situation in eastern Ukraine, the Syrian crisis, the stabilization of Libya and security in the Sahel. He is also taking part in President Macron’s bilateral meetings with the main G20 leaders.
