The “FranceDanse” initiative, conceived by the Institut français, has been promoting French contemporary dance around the world since 2007.
The 2016 edition runs through November 15 in Brazil. It features the work of 16 French companies, from world famous choreographers to undiscovered young talent.
In addition to the shows scheduled to take place in 15 major Brazilian cities, “FranceDanse” Brazil will include a comprehensive program aimed at encouraging new partnerships between French and Brazilian artists: workshops, seminars in collaboration with universities, meetings with artists as well as a selection of films and videos.
The program was developed by the Institut français and the Embassy of France in Brazil in coordination with the Brazilian partners. The initiative is also supported by the Ministry of Culture and Communication.
