Climate – Visits by Laurent Fabius to India, South Africa and Brazil (November 20 to 22, 2015)

Laurent Fabius, COP21 President, will visit, in succession, India, South Africa and Brazil from November 20 to 22; he will meet with the leaders of these countries to prepare for the Paris Climate Conference.

These visits to three emerging countries that are key players in the negotiations are aimed at making progress toward achieving the necessary consensus.

Following the recent pre-COP meeting in Paris attended by 60 ministers from more than 70 countries representing all continents, these visits demonstrate the French presidency’s determination to listen to all parties in order to reach together a universal, ambitious and lasting agreement on global warming.

As Laurent Fabius, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, reaffirmed this morning, we are fully mobilized to achieve this goal.
