Climate – Opening by Laurent Fabius of the “Make it work forum: civil society commits itself in support of climate” (Paris, 3 october 2015)

On October 3, Laurent Fabius, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, opened the “Make it work forum: civil society commits itself in support of climate,” jointly organized by Libération, Sciences Po and several international media outlets.

This forum, which took place throughout the day at Sciences Po Paris, provided an opportunity to discuss the issues at stake at the Paris Climate Conference and the solutions for a sustainable world. Laurent Fabius, Stéphane Le Foll, Minister of Agriculture, Agrifood, and Forestry, and Anne Hidalgo, Mayor of Paris, exchanged ideas on key issues in the presence of 500 experts, businesses, intellectuals and members of civil society: What will the planet look like in 2050? How will the geopolitical situation look in terms of climate? What are the links between climate and energy issues, or climate and agriculture?

Less than two months ahead of the opening of the Paris Climate Conference, this forum made it possible to increase the general public’s awareness of the need for an ambitious and binding agreement in December in Paris.

This event is open to the press.
