Climate – OECD – Laurent Fabius’s participation in a round table (Paris, February 3, 2015)

Laurent Fabius, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, participated in a round table this morning at the OECD headquarters on the fight against climate disruption and sustainable development.

Ministerial-level officials, experts and representatives of businesses and international organizations from all over the world participated in these discussions, which notably focused on distortions in competitiveness that are holding back the fight against climate disruption and on the “solution agenda,” which identifies private sector actions in support of the transition toward low-carbon economies.

The meeting provided an opportunity to identify avenues of cooperation in order to enhance coordination of national policies.

These issues will be the subject of further debate in the run-up to the 2015 Paris Climate Conference.

Laurent Fabius, together with Angel Gurria, Secretary-General of OECD, also took stock of the challenges for 2015, including the OECD ministerial meeting scheduled to take place at the beginning of June which France will co-chair.
