Climate - Inauguration of Unilever France’s headquarters in a positive energy building (Rueil-Malmaison, March 19 2015)

Ahead of the 2015 Paris Climate Conference, Laurent Fabius attended the inauguration of Unilever France’s new headquarters – a positive energy building – in Rueil-Malmaison this morning.

This building is part of the largest positive energy operation in France in the services sector; 4,000 m² of solar rooftop panels ensure that it produces more energy than it consumes. Over a year, its photovoltaic cells produce 900,000 KW/H, offsetting the energy required for 130 households.

This exemplary building underscores the importance of mobilizing all actors to confront the challenges of climate change. By participating in the fight against climate disruption and pursuing green growth, which also creates jobs, businesses have a major role to play.
