Climate – High-level French-American forum on sustainable cities (Washington, March 5 and 6, 2015)

The French diplomatic network is mobilizing its efforts to prepare for the 2015 Paris Climate Conference, the success of which is one of the key objectives identified by Laurent Fabius. The Embassy of France in Washington will bring together, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, representatives of American cities (Atlanta, San Francisco, Miami, New York, Houston…) and of French cities (Paris, Toulouse, Strasbourg, Grenoble, Bordeaux…) in order to share their sustainable development initiatives.

More than 250 American and French participants are expected to attend: policymakers, locally elected representatives, entrepreneurs, experts and members of NGOs. Manuel Pulgar Vidal, Peruvian Minister of State for Environment and President of COP20 and Ambassador Laurence Tubiana, Special Representative of Laurent Fabius, will participate in the forum.

Dialogue between all stakeholders – states, local authorities, businesses and civil society – is key to ensuring the success of COP 21.
