Climate – Paris agreement – Ratification by Panama and Brazil (September 12, 2016)

France welcomes the completion by Brazil and Panama of their national process to ratify the Paris climate agreement, which demonstrates their commitment to the fight against climate change.

France urges all countries that are signatories to the agreement to ratify it as swiftly as possible, notably during the high-level event on the entry into force of the Paris agreement due to take place in New York on September 21.

This process will make it possible to reach, as swiftly as possible, the threshold of 55 countries representing 55% of emissions required for the Paris agreement to enter into force.
