France welcomes the resumption of humanitarian flights to Sana airport. It calls for this measure to be expanded to include access by sea to the port of Hodeidah and demands that the decisions taken in this respect by the Arab coalition be fully implemented as swiftly as possible.
All parties to the conflict have a duty to ensure full, unconditional and unrestricted access for humanitarian assistance in accordance with international humanitarian law. This requirement was discussed in depth with the Saudi authorities during the visit by Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian to Saudi Arabia on November 15 and 16. The only way to put an end to the crisis in Yemen and its tragic consequences for the Yemeni people as well as its repercussions on the security of the neighboring countries is through a negotiated political solution.
