On Monday, 1 March, France took part in the Virtual High-Level Pledging Event for the Humanitarian Situation in Yemen, co-organized by Sweden, Switzerland and the United Nations. This event enabled the international community to remain mobilized for Yemen, in the face of the humanitarian hardships being imposed on the Yemeni people.

France announced a contribution of over €11 million to the humanitarian response in Yemen. This was in addition to increased contributions to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the World Food Programme (WFP).

Furthermore, France called on all Parties to ensure safe and unimpeded humanitarian access to populations in need throughout Yemeni territory. It reiterated its call for the immediate cessation of hostilities and the resumption of negotiations. In this regard, France maintains its unyielding commitment to a political, comprehensive and inclusive solution under the auspices of the United Nations.
