Yemen – Attacks in Sanaa (June 17, 2015)


France condemns the June 17th attacks on three Shiite mosques and a political headquarters in Sanaa that left 31 dead. It offers its condolences to the victims’ families and its sympathy to the injured.

We reiterate our support for the Yemeni people and authorities in their fight against terrorism. We call on all the parties to reject all forms of violence.

France reaffirms its support for the efforts of UN special envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed. It calls on all the parties to find a solution to the crisis and to implement a cease-fire negotiated under the auspices of the UN. Allowing the prompt delivery of humanitarian assistance, which is necessary to meet the needs of the population, is a matter of urgency.
