Saudi Arabia - Yemen – Attack on oil facility in Jeddah (23 November 2020)

France condemns the attack on an Aramco oil facility in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 23, for which the Houthis claimed credit. This attack, which targets civilian infrastructures in violation of international law, undermines current peace efforts, jeopardizes Saudi Arabia’s security, and is harmful to stability in the region.

The cessation of hostilities and revival of talks on reaching a comprehensive, inclusive political agreement in Yemen offer the only possible prospect for ending the conflict and the suffering of the Yemeni people. France reaffirms its full support for efforts in that regard by the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy, Martin Griffiths.
