Visit to Vietnam by Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne (24-25 January 2018)
On January 24 and 25, Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister of State attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, will visit Vietnam, traveling to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
On that occasion, he will co-chair the Fifth session of the High-Level Economic Dialogue between France and Vietnam, which will offer an opportunity to discuss projects by French companies in strategic sectors (transportation and infrastructure, energy, the environment, health, food and agriculture, etc.) as well as issues of market access, including the prospect of a free-trade agreement between the EU and Vietnam. Certain projects enjoy French official development assistance, with more than €2 billion euros allocated over the past 10 years – a reflection of Vietnam’s special status for France.
This visit will also mark the launch of celebrations in 2018 of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and France and the fifth anniversary of the French-Vietnamese strategic partnership. The official logo of the 45th anniversary, the result of a competition organized with the Lycée Français Alexandre Yersin of Hanoi, will be unveiled on this occasion.
In Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Lemoyne will inaugurate the new France-Vietnam health club, aimed at bringing together all French actors in the field of healthcare in Vietnam and supporting our partnerships in this sector.
