United States – Visit by Catherine Colonna (Washington, October 20-21, 2022)

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna will travel to Washington from October 20-21.

She will meet with her counterpart, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, as well as Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry ahead of the opening of the COP 27.

During her visit, the discussions will cover all aspects of the bilateral relationship, in particular with regard to our continued support of Ukraine. Iran, Lebanon, Haiti, the Sahel and the energy supply will also be discussed. A progress report will be given on the implementation of the commitments made in the United States-France Joint Statement, which the two heads of state adopted in Rome on October 29, 2021.

Furthermore, this visit is part of the preparations being made for the French president’s state visit to the United States from December 1-2.

The minister will talk about transatlantic relations at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) before meeting with the staff of the French Embassy and the Consulate General in Washington.
