Q: U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is in Paris for the OECD Ministerial Conference. Will they discuss the submarine crisis and AUKUS, and more specifically will France request details regarding the content of the AUKUS deal which remains very vague at this time?

A: The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs will meet with Secretary of State Antony Blinken at the Quai d’Orsay on October 5. Following on from their meeting in New York on September 23, the two ministers will have an in-depth discussion to identify the steps that need to be taken to rebuild trust between our two countries. As the Minister said in New York, emerging from the crisis will take time and will require actions. It is in this spirit that we will begin these in-depth consultations agreed upon by the two Presidents on September 22.
