U.S. – Visit by Franck Riester (New York, Washington and Chicago, Nov. 12-18 2021)

Franck Riester, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, is currently visiting the United States.

He will travel successively to New York, Washington and Chicago, moving ahead on economic and trade issues that are vital to our bilateral relationship. The visit will focus on promoting the attractiveness of the French economy.

Mr. Riester will meet with U.S. administration officials and lawmakers. He will highlight the progress made in the past few months in improving transatlantic trade relations, especially with regard to the Airbus-Boeing dispute and the establishment of a Trade and Technology Council (TTC). He will also underscore the importance France attributes to multilateral trading rules, especially during his conversations with academics and representatives of major U.S. think tanks.

The Minister will meet with French business community stakeholders in the United States: CEOs of various major companies, representatives of French-American Chambers of Commerce in New York and Chicago, and the American economic community, in order to strengthen ties between our private sectors. He will explain recent measures taken to promote competitiveness and the attractiveness of our economy, especially the France 2030 investment plan.
