Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna is convening the first meeting of Villa Albertine’s Strategic Orientation Board (COS) on the first anniversary of this innovative residential program which offers unparalleled support for artistic creation worldwide.

Established in the fall of 2021, Villa Albertine is a global platform that provides support for French cultural stakeholders (creators, institutions, and cultural associations and enterprises) in the United States. It offers not only residencies but also professional programs, funding, events and media access. Its aim is to provide the best possible forms of support for cultural stakeholders in order to give Americans a fresh vision of our country and culture.

This meeting will be attended by Villa Albertine’s principal French and American partners, including Glenn D. Lowry, director of MoMA in New York City and a member of the selection jury for the Artist Residency Program; Katherine E. Fleming, president and CEO of the Getty Trust in Los Angeles; representatives from the FACE and Bettencourt Schueller foundations; and such distinguished figures as Air France CEO Anne Rigail; Ardian president Dominique Senequier; painter Jean-Marc Bustamante, representing the Académie des Beaux-Arts; and Constance Rivière, writer and director-general of the Palais de la Porte Dorée, representing Villa Albertine’s residents.

This meeting will also provide an opportunity to strengthen Villa Albertine’s role in boosting Americans’ appreciation toward all things French and to provide support for the French cultural landscape as it evolves in contact with the American cultural scene.
