Death of Madeleine Albright - (24 Mar. 2022)

On France’s behalf, I pay heartfelt tribute to the memory of Madeleine Albright.

Born amid the upheavals of 20th-century Europe, throughout her life she upheld the values of freedom and democracy that unite the two shores of the Atlantic, and left her mark on the history of our shared struggles.

As the United States’ first female secretary of State, she led the way for a whole generation of women diplomats.

My thoughts today are with her family and close friends and with all our American friends.
