French schools abroad –United Kingdom – Opening of Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill (03.09.15)

The new French school in Wembley, the Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill, opened its doors today, welcoming 475 students from kindergarten to grade 13. This establishment, which meets the highest standards of safety and energy efficiency, came about thanks to cooperation between the State, the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), and the private sector.

It will eventually accommodate 1,300 students and responds to a strong demand from the French community in the United Kingdom, estimated at 300,000, and especially our compatriots living in Greater London.

Like the Lycée Charles de Gaulle in the center of the British capital, the Lycée Winston Churchill is part of the network of French schools in the United Kingdom; it now includes 14 establishments and serves 7,115 students.
