The minister for Europe and foreign affairs spoke with his Ukrainian counterpart, Dmytro Kuleba, on November 2.
The two ministers discussed their shared desire to develop French-Ukrainian bilateral relations in all areas and reaffirmed their attachment to ensuring that the improvement in the security situation in the Donbas region will contribute to swift progress toward implementing the conclusions of the summit in Paris in December 2019.
The minister reaffirmed the consistent and unequivocal position of France, which does not recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea. He underscored the need for Ukraine to proceed with the reforms undertaken since 2014. Lastly, he welcomed the holding of the EU-Ukraine summit on October 6.
