Ukraine – New Russian air strikes against civilian infrastructure (17 November 2022)

France condemns in the strongest possible terms the continued Russian air strikes against a number of Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv. These strikes once again deliberately targeted civilian infrastructures, affecting the supply of electricity to Ukrainian households. These irresponsible strikes are also having an impact on the energy security of neighboring Moldova.

These strikes against civilian targets may constitute war crimes and their perpetrators must be held accountable.

In this difficult situation, bolstering the resiliency of Ukraine’s civilian population is more crucial than ever. It is the focus of an international conference that France will be hosting on December 13 in Paris which is committed to finding concrete solutions to the immediate needs of the Ukrainian people in order to help them face the winter, and to step up the coordination of international aid.
