Matthias Fekl, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, the Promotion of Tourism and French Nationals Abroad, was in Istanbul from October 5 to 6 for the G20 Trade Ministers Meeting.
The purpose of this meeting was to coordinate the positions of the G20 countries, in preparation for the 10th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization due to take place in Nairobi from December 15 to 18. It provided an opportunity to exchange views on the role of the least advanced countries in international trade as well as that of SMEs in the developments in global trade.
On this occasion, Matthias Fekl hosted a round table with Turkish importers of agricultural products and the directors of subsidiaries of French establishments producing animal products within the framework of the export component of the livestock sector support plan adopted on July 22, 2015. He also inaugurated the “Club santé” which will bring together French professionals from the health sector in Turkey.
Lastly, he met with the French community in Istanbul on the occasion of the ceremony to award the grand prize of the 2015 International Volunteer Internships program in Turkey.
