Turkey – Visit by Franck Riester (Istanbul, 27-29 Sept.ember 2021)
Franck Riester, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, is visiting Istanbul in Turkey from September 27 to 29, accompanied by a delegation of French firms.
The minister delegate, together with Mehmet Mus, Turkish Minister of Trade, will co-chair the 6th session of the France-Turkey Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO) on September 28. This event, which is taking place for the first time since 2018, brings together French and Turkish economic stakeholders. It will provide an opportunity to strengthen relations between our two countries on the trade front and to identify new areas for collaboration in key sectors such as sustainable development and new technologies.
The minister delegate will exchange views with Mehmet Mus beforehand in order to continue the dialogue initiated in June on economic and trade issues.
Frank Riester will also exchange views with the French business community in Istanbul and take part in the launch of the French Tech community in Istanbul. On September 29, the minister will meet with Mayor of Istanbul Ekrem Imamoglu, with whom he will address a range of economic projects of common interest. Lastly, he will meet with representatives of the French Chamber of Commerce in Turkey.
