The two ministers discussed the failed coup attempt in Turkey.
Mevlut Cavusoglu confirmed that the civil authorities had regained control of the situation. Jean-Marc Ayrault expressed the hope that Turkish democracy would be strengthened by this ordeal and that fundamental freedoms would be fully respected.
Following the attack in Nice, the Turkish minister extended his condolences to the French people. The two interlocutors confirmed their determination to combat the scourge of terrorism. They agreed to meet next week in Washington at the ministerial meeting of the coalition against Daesh.
