Jean-Yves le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, will receive his Turkish counterpart, Mevlut Cavusoglu, on October 5.
This meeting, which falls within the framework of our constructive and demanding dialogue with Turkey, follows on from the minister’s visit to Ankara on September 14 and 15. The discussions will notably focus on international and regional issues, regarding which Turkey is a key partner of France.
Jean-Yves Le Drian will examine with his Turkish counterpart initiatives to achieve a political solution to the Syrian conflict, notably through the establishment of an international contact group. He will also discuss the situation in Iraqi Kurdistan, following the referendum on September 25, and its regional repercussions.
