Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister of State attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, chaired the 5th session of the France-Turkey Joint Economic and Trade Committee on April 10 and met with Nihat Zeybekci, Turkish Minister of the Economy and Co-Chair of the Committee. These meetings were preceded by a business forum aimed at facilitating cooperation between Turkish and French businesses.

The discussions provided an opportunity to address the strengthening of our economic relations in several key areas for cooperation, including the infrastructure and nuclear sectors.

Turkey is our 10th largest commercial market worldwide (third largest outside of the EU and Switzerland). As President Macron reaffirmed following his meeting with his Turkish counterpart in Paris on January 5, our goal is to achieve an annual trade volume of €20 billion (compared with €14 billion today).
