Turkey – Terrorist attack carried out at a church in Istanbul (28 January 2024)

France condemns in the strongest possible terms yesterday’s terrorist attack, which was carried out at the Santa Maria Italian Catholic church in Büyükdere, leaving one person dead and several others wounded. Daesh claimed responsibility for the attack.

France offers its condolences to the victims’ loved ones and wishes those who were wounded a speedy recovery. France extends its sympathy to the Christian community of Istanbul and reaffirms its absolute solidarity with Italy and Turkey.

France, alongside Turkey and its international partners, reaffirms its commitment to combatting terrorism.
