The minister for Europe and foreign affairs spoke with his Tunisian counterpart, Othman Jerandi on November 1. This conversation took place in the context of his regular dialogue with the Tunisian authorities: During his visit to Tunis on October 22, the minister met with President Saied, Prime Minister Mechichi and the minister of foreign affairs.
During his conversation with his counterpart yesterday, the minister thanked him for the declarations and messages of solidarity sent by the Tunisian authorities following the attack in Nice on October 29. The minister’s exchange with his Tunisian counterpart focused on cooperation between France and Tunisia with respect to the fight against terrorism and the management of migration flows, notably the fight against illegal immigration. The minister called for the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in these areas.
