Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister of State for Tourism, French Nationals Abroad and Francophonie, will be in Tunisia on December 9 and 10 as part of our regular bilateral dialogue with that country and our cooperation with our French-speaking partners around the world.

Together with Mohamed Ali Nafti, Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, he will co-chair a working session to prepare the third meeting of the High-Level Cooperation Council (HCC), which will be held in Tunis and will bring together our countries’ Prime Ministers in the first quarter of 2021.

Mr. Lemoyne will meet with Habib Ammar, Tunisia’s Minister of Culture and Minister of Tourism, to discuss the impact of the global health crisis on this sector and our two countries’ strategies for dealing with it.

The Minister of State will address the General Assembly of the Association Internationale des Maires Francophones (AIMF) hosted by Tunis Mayor Souad Abderrahim on December 10 and attended by Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary-General of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), and Anne Hidalgo, Mayor of Paris and president of the AIMF. In November 2021, Tunisia will host the next summit of OIF heads of state and government in Djerba, as well as other events by civil society organizations in OIF member countries.

During his visit, Mr. Lemoyne will exchange views with representatives of the French community in Tunisia: counselors of French nationals abroad, the heads of educational establishments, and representatives of the business community.
