Syria – OPCW’s condemnation of the use of chlorine gas (February 4, 2015)

In a decision adopted by 40 votes to one on February 4, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) condemned the use of chlorine gas in Syria. The OPCW Director-General will forward the reports of the fact-finding mission to the UN Security Council.

France welcomes the adoption of this decision, which will enable the international community to send a strong, clear message on the continued use of chlorine gas in Syria.

We would like the fact-finding mission to shed full light on all allegations regarding the use of chemical weapons made since Syria’s accession to the convention on the banning of these weapons.
