A – France condemns the adoption of this law, which threatens to prevent the return of millions of Syrian refugees and displaced persons by stripping them of their property.

This is a new phase in the brutal strategy of evicting whole swaths of the Syrian population, which the Damascus regime has been engaged in for several years.

It is also a serious obstacle in the quest for a sustainable political solution to the Syrian conflict.

The entire international community must take care not to assist this strategy in any way.
