France received its first intake of Syrian students from Lebanon on October 11. 34 Syrian students living in Lebanon have been selected to continue their studies in France during the 2016-2017 school year.
As part of the special assistance provided by France to Syrian refugees, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development, has established a scholarship program to fund, for a period of 12 to 36 months, the university education of Syrian students enrolled in French higher education institutions.
This program, managed by Campus France, also provides for the payment of a subsidy to the host institutions in order to contribute to their support, mentoring and training initiatives.
In accordance with President Hollande’s commitments to help Lebanon address the consequences of the Syrian crisis, €1 million will be allocated as part of this program to Syrian students living in Lebanon.
