Sudan – Renewed bombing of the hospital operated by Doctors Without Borders (January 20, 2015)

France condemns the bombing of the hospital operated by Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in Frandala (South Kordofan), which injured two people including an MSF employee. After the second bombing in 7 months, MSF has announced that it has been forced to suspend its assistance to the local population.

France reaffirms that deliberate attacks against hospitals and other facilities providing treatment to the sick and injured may constitute war crimes.

We call for humanitarian access to be re-established as swiftly as possible in the areas of conflict and for the resumption of dialogue between the parties, in accordance with the commitments made in Addis Ababa on September 5, 2014.
