Sudan - Peace agreement between the Sudanese authorities and part of the rebel alliance (31 August 2020)

France welcomes the peace agreement concluded yesterday in Juba between Sudan’s transitional authorities and the armed movements of the Sudan Revolutionary Front and the SLM-Minni Minawi.

It hopes that this agreement will make it possible to restore peace in Darfur and in the two regions of Blue Nile and South Kordofan following decades of violence.

France urges the armed movements that have not signed the August 31 agreement to engage in good faith in negotiations with the Sudanese authorities and to contribute to the reconciliation efforts among all Sudanese people being carried out within the framework of the ongoing political transition in Sudan.
