Sudan (4 June 2019)

Following the violence in recent days in Khartoum which resulted in several dozen casualties - which we condemned -, the Transitional Military Council has announced its unilateral decision to cease upholding the agreements concluded with the opposition.

France expresses its deep concern with respect to this decision and reaffirms its attachment to ensuring that there is broad consensus among the Sudanese population on the transition. France reminds the Transitional Military Council that the security of all Sudanese people is its primary responsibility.

All parties must resume dialogue and refrain from any form of violence so that a peaceful transition can be successfully completed in the interests of the Sudanese people.
