Somalia – France strongly condemns the attack on an African Union base - (03 May 2022)

France strongly condemns the attack by Al Shabab on a base belonging to the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS). Burundian peacekeepers were killed in the May 3rd attack, which took place near Ceel Baraf, in Hirshabelle State.

France offers its condolences to the families of the deceased soldiers and the Burundian authorities.

France stands with the African Union in the fight against terrorism.
