Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian will be visiting Slovenia on September 3 and 4.

He will be hosted by President Borut Pahor and Prime Minister Janez Janša. He will meet with his counterpart, Anže Logar.

Mr. Le Drian and his interlocutors will discuss major European and international issues (the Conference on the Future of Europe, the EU budget, the European recovery plan, managing the Covid-19 crisis, and the eastern Mediterranean). He will underscore the many ways in which our countries see eye to eye, especially with a view toward the Slovenian and French presidencies of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2021 and the first half of 2022, respectively.

The Minister and his counterpart will review the deepening of our bilateral relationship, especially in the cultural and economic arenas, in the context of the French-Slovenian Strategic Partnership Action Plan signed by the two countries’ foreign ministers on July 2, 2019.

As the guest of honor at the annual Slovenian Ambassadors Conference, Mr. Le Drian will give a speech on our ambitions for a more sovereign, sustainable and inclusive Europe.
