Franck Riester, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, is visiting Slovenia from July 15 to 16.

The minister delegate will be received by Zdravko Pocivalsek, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Economic Development and Technology of the Republic of Slovenia. This meeting, which follows on from their discussions on February 15 and June 21, comes at a time when Slovenia has held the presidency of the Council of the European Union since July 1, 2021. It reaffirms our desire to ensure close coordination between our two countries given that France will assume the presidency of the Council of the European Union on January 1, 2022.

Mr. Riester will also meet with his counterpart, Stanislav Rascan, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in charge of Economic Diplomacy, as well as with Blaz Kosorok, State Secretary at the Ministry of Infrastructure in charge of Sustainable Mobility and Energy.

The minister delegate will discuss major current trade issues with his interlocutors: the trade policy priorities of the Slovenian presidency, notably with respect to issues relating to sustainable development and the fight against unfair and coercive practices. They will also discuss bilateral economic and trade relations between our two countries in order to outline prospects for stronger cooperation, notably in key sectors.

During his visit, Mr. Riester will meet with representatives of the French business community in Slovenia, as well as with influential economic stakeholders in Slovenia.
