France joins in the national mourning in Senegal following the attack against a group of civilians from the town of Borofaye (Casamance) which left 13 people dead and several others injured on January 6.

We extend our condolences to the bereaved.

This tragedy reaffirms the need for lasting stabilization in the Casamance region within the framework of the dialogue proposed by the Senegalese government.
