Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, will visit Saudi Arabia from November 15 to 16. He will be formally received by King Salman and will meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and with his counterpart, Adel al-Jubeir.
Jean-Yves Le Drian will discuss with his interlocutors ways to enhance our cooperation in all areas, especially in the economic, political and cultural spheres in the context of the Vision 2030 plan developed by the Saudi authorities.
The fight against terrorism and its financing will also be central to the discussions. The minister and his interlocutors will discuss ways to strengthen our joint efforts in the run-up to the conference on the fight against the financing of terrorism due to be hosted by France in the spring of 2018.
Jean-Yves Le Drian will also take stock of the main regional crises. A political solution must be found in Syria and Yemen and humanitarian access must be ensured for all populations in need. Regional tensions are also a matter of common concern and the minster will reaffirm the importance of avoiding any interference and of respecting the principle of sovereignty in the region. In this context, Jean-Yves Le Drian will confirm France’s attachment to Lebanon’s stability.
