Saudi Arabia – France condemns the execution of 17 people (23 November 2022)

France condemns the execution of 17 people by Saudi Arabia since November 10.

France reaffirms its unwavering opposition to the death penalty everywhere and in all circumstances. France remains resolutely committed to the universal abolition of this unjust, inhumane and ineffective punishment. We call on Saudi Arabia, and on all nations that still apply the death penalty, to place it under a moratorium ahead of its ultimate abolition.
