Saudi Arabia – Firing of ballistic missiles (Paris, March 26, 2018)

Jean-Yves Le Drian condemns the firing by Houthi rebels of several ballistic missiles targeted against Saudi Arabia - notably against Riyadh - during the night of March 25 to 26.

This attack is a further assault on Saudi Arabia’s security and on peace and security in the region. It reflects the seriousness of the threat posed by ballistic missile proliferation throughout the region. The transfer of missile capabilities to non-state actors likely to use them against states is irresponsible and unlawful.

France will continue to make the fight against this type of behavior a priority of its external action.

We reaffirm our support for and solidarity with Saudi Arabia and will continue our efforts, together with our partners, to address this threat.

What is your response following claims by the Saudi coalition that Yemen’s Houthi militia have conducted seven missile launches against Saudi Arabia?
