Franck Riester, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, spoke today with Khaled Ben Abdelaziz al-Faleh, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Investment.

The minister delegate and the Saudi minister expressed their determination to strengthen the economic and trade component of the bilateral partnership between our two countries in all areas where French expertise and know-how are recognized, notably in the energy, water, transport, innovation, new technology and aerospace sectors.

Franck Riester underscored the interest shown by French firms in projects relating to the Vision 2030 program to diversify the Saudi economy, while France is one of the largest investors in the country, with direct investment amounting to more than €3.7 billion.

He urged Saudi economic actors to invest in the French innovation ecosystem and underscored the attractiveness of France – a gateway to trade within the European Union – as a location.

Franck Riester and Khaled Ben Abdelaziz al-Faleh agreed to talk regularly in order to follow up on economic projects between France and Saudi Arabia.
